What is Amla?

Amla (Indian gooseberry) or phyllanthus emblica has the highest concentration of Vitamin C as compared to any other edible plant. It is a famous sour berry in India that is usually eaten in the pickled form, candied form or in the form of juice.

Amla derives its name from the Sanskrit word “amalaki” which means ‘Nectar of Life’ or ‘The Mother’. The oldest medicinal fruit used by Ayurveda, it is said to possess five of the six tastes (sour, bitter, pungent, astringent, sweet).

Amla Tablets are highly beneficial to the human body according to Ayurveda and are known to balance the tri-doshas. Amla is good for Pitta, it helps with cleansing of the body without creating dryness.

Common uses of Amla:

Amla, packed with vitamin C and potent antioxidants, is a natural powerhouse for bolstering the immune system. Regular consumption of Amla, whether in juice, powder, or supplement form, can contribute to a robust defense against common illnesses.

Amla's benefits extend to skincare as well. Its high vitamin C content acts as a natural skin brightener and promotes a radiant complexion. Regular use of Amla-infused skincare products or homemade face masks can contribute to a healthier, more youthful appearance.
